Thank you for inquiring about bringing your group to Bube's Brewery. A brochure is available to tell you more about our unique property – the only intact 19th century brewery and brewery/hotel in the nation. Exploring historic properties has become very popular and one of the enjoyable aspects of bringing a group here is that the building itself is worth a trip – it is a nationally registered historic site.

We prepare our menu items entirely from fresh ingredients, prepared on the premises the day of your arrival. This means that although you may find lesser expensive alternatives, the quality of our food is unmatched locally. Many of our ingredients even come from our own garden, in season. If you have any questions about our food or our facility that are not answered here, please call us. Our Manager, our chef, or our banquet coordinator will be glad to talk to you.

Our goal in offering you a menu selection is to make your job simple, yet give you quality choices. You simply need to choose where you would like your banquet and which type of menu you would like to offer your group. Your dinner may be in our large Victorian dining room in the restaurant Alois's (please refer to the brochure) or four stories under the street in the Catacombs (a part of the brewery). In either case your group may have a complimentary tour of the brewery. If eating in the Catacombs, we recommend the tour before dining, in Alois's we recommend the tour after dinner. If your group includes people that have difficulty negotiating stairs, we recommend serving your group upstairs and then offering a tour to those that wish to go after dinner. In any case, all that come will enjoy seeing this singular property – you'll know from the moment you arrive that you're not at a typical banquet.

After choosing whether you would like to be in Alois's or the Catacombs, you should choose the type of dinner you would like – there are four general categories:

  • Banquet Menu Dining – this option is most similar to anyone else you might be comparing us to. The menu is traditional in the sense that it can be offered to large groups, it is the least expensive option, and we must know ahead of time how many of each kind of dinner will be served if you wish to offer more than one choice. Although this is the most budget – conscious option, the food will still be excellent – just a few less frills. We consider every banquet dinner to be a taste trial for prospective clients that may come back again.

  • Limited Menu Dining – this option is designed for smaller banquets (30 or less) that would like to order their dinners upon arrival (rather than ahead of time) and would like a full range of options for their guests. Essentially you are taking your group out to dinner at our restaurant and eating from the regular menu except that we have limited it somewhat to facilitate our staff's ability to handle a larger group. We can personalize the special menu that we print for your group with anything you would like printed on the menu.

  • Cocktail Party Menu Dining – this type of dining is becoming more popular. The menu consists of items that can be eaten while standing or sitting and is perfect for a function at which mingling throughout dinner would be appropriate. We recommend that the menu include appetizer items, a salad item or items, and an item that can function as an entree, and possible dessert. We like to tailor a menu to your group depending upon the type of function you are planning. This style of dining is oriented toward Alois's restaurant but can be done in the Catacombs.

  • A Feast – this is a special entertainment dinner offering that is available only in the Catacombs. If you have a group for which a lively, absolutely unique dinner would be appropriate, please consider this option. If you are considering a feast, please see the accompanying info about feasts (there is no written menu per se – the feast is a completely planned dinner, the dinner being part of the show).

For any banquet we appreciate your best guess of the number coming one week in advance. You are welcome to update that number up to the day of the banquet. We will charge you for the last number that you give us. If you are unsure of a few, you can give us a guaranteed number and have up to 4 optional extras that we won't charge you for it they don't make it. In that case, your last guaranteed number will be the minimum that we charge for.

All of this information is an attempt to put some of the many things we can do for you in your hands. When you have made the decision to bring your group to Bube's Brewery/Alois's or the Catacombs, and have an idea of what kind of function you prefer, please call us between 10 AM and 4 PM at (717) 653-2056 (ask for Sam or Elizabeth), and let us help you finish the planning stage.

Thank you and please allow us to help arrange a unique and memorable dinner.
